“Copy-n-Paste” Webpage Creation for Instructors

Friday, February 8th, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you can copy and paste text in Microsoft Word and files in Windows Explorer, you have all the skills needed to create your own Internet webpages for your class! Bring in a list of Internet links, reading passages, vocabulary lists, and listening exercises (mp3’s) or other materials, and by the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own four webpage mini-website operating on-line!

In the workshop you will learn the basics of how webpages operate on the Internet. Then with simple “cut-n-paste” webpage creation, you will use the materials you bring in and the templates provided to create your own mini-website off-line. All the work will be done in NotePad, the low-tech text editor found on all Windows computers. In the last part of the workshop, you will upload your webpages to the Internet in your very own “sandbox” at moodle.vcc.ca. Your students will have on-line access as soon as you request the sandbox be converted to an operational class website.
